I know that I took a month off to focus only on school, but I have come to conclusion that writing down my thoughts helps me to really think through what I want to do next. And since this blog is not about studying, it helps me concentrate on what to do about Snape, Fluffy, Hagrid and his flame prone house, and of course the "secret" that Fluffy is guarding.
But I can't help but also think about the fact that in about one month, Final Exams will be upon us. Upon me. And I reallllly hope I will be able to handle it.
I've started to make study schedules for Harry and Ron as well, and I'm pretty sure they're going all crazy with how strict I'm being, but I can't help it. I don't want to be the only one to potentially succeed in these exams!
A week ago as Harry, Ron, and I were eating breakfast, Hedwig brought a note to Harry saying that the egg was hatching. Ron wanted to go immediately, but I wouldn't allow it, which of course led to Ron arguing with me like a maniac all through first period. So, we went to Hagrid's during morning break.
Watching that egg hatch was both so terrifying and beautiful. The dragon was already the size of a large puppy, and it had just been born. It was all black with orange eyes and spikes and horns all along its head and back. Hagrid cooed over it like it was his own baby. And I admit, although I don't condone the fact that he was harboring an illegal animal in his very flammable hut, it was quite an adorable sight to see.
Until he looked up. And saw Malfoy's snotty, smirking face staring at the dragon (Norbert as called by Hagrid). For the past week he's been looking particularly haughty, and he always gives Harry, Ron and I the same look. It's been wracking at my nerves all week.
I've been to see Hagrid several times now and each time someone suggests letting Norbert go free, he gets all misty eyed and says that he's too small.
It's already grown three times it's original size.
So, we've hatched a plan. Ron's older brother works with dragons (legally) in Romania, so we sent him an owl to see if he can save Norbert before Malfoy tells someone. Hopefully we'll have his answer soon.

Huts and Dragons
It's been a very long month of study schedules, color coded notes, homework piles, and more studying, but I have returned to my blog. a I want to make it clear that, although I haven't been able to blog as much (or at all) I haven't forgotten about Fluffy and the "secret" he's guarding or even Snape. Snape looms heavily in my day to day, so keeping an eye on him isn't as hard as I thought. Although not all of my time can be spent devoted to stopping him, I'd like to make it clear that at least 45% of my time is. 👌?
That begin said, my day started in the library with Harry and Ron, whom I forced to come and study. If I pass, I also want my friends to do so as well. While we were in there, and Ron continued to grumble AGAIN, Hagrid passed by our table holding something behind his back.
If that doesn't scream suspicious, I don't know what does.
Not to mention the fact that Hagrid is NEVER in the library, so it was a bit of a surprise to see him there. We told him we'd meet him later to discuss more about Nicolas Flamel, since Hagrid was a bit more than surprised that we actually had figured it out.
Ron checked out what section Hagrid had walked out of, and it turns out he was looking through books about dragons. Dragons! What would he need a book like that for if he wasn't up to something not strictly legal, in the magical world especially.
When we went to see him, I encouraged him to tell us a bit more about what exactly the situation was concerning the security measures and Fluffy.
(Honestly, I think Hagrid would've told us whether I complimented him or not, but my way was faster.)
He told us the Professor Sprout, Professor Flitwick, Professor McGonagall, Professor Quirrell, Snape, and even Dumbledore had set about magical security measures to prevent anyone from getting in.
The fact that Snape also had his part meant that he himself most likely knew about how to get past the other enchantments; except Fluffy (who chewed him up and then spit him back out) and Professor Quirrell's spell (whatever it was).
And if that wasn't enough, it turned out that the reason why Hagrid was looking at Dragon books in the library was because he had a DRAGON EGG IN HIS HOUSE. WAITING TO HATCH.
I tried to warn him that he lives in a wooden house, but he wouldn't listen to me and went on as happy as an expectant mother would be.
All I can say is this is going to be an extremely hectic next few weeks.

TEN WEEKS!!!
Hi all.
This is an update, and an important one. In TEN WEEKS, I will be taking my End of the Year Exams for my first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. To some (like dear old Ronald) ten weeks may seem like a large amount of time. But in fact, it is the exact opposite. This blog has been a wonderful way to talk about school, but it takes away from what I can study and not study.
So, I will be taking some time off to really immerse myself in classes and school, for the sole purpose of preparing myself fully for these exams.
I've said before that for me, death would be better than getting kicked out of Hogwarts, and I will not allow the slightest chance that I get expelled simply because of my marks.
Thankyou for understanding my temporary break from saving the world, and I shall be back soon.
