Charlie to the Rescue?

Charlie came through.  A few days after our initial letter, he sent back a message saying that some of his friends were coming to visit him and would pass through Hogwarts on the way.  We could hand Norbert off to them when that happens.  That is tonight.  The only bad thing is, we must meet with them at midnight, and I really didn't want anything bad to happen to me or Harry so close to exams.

We lost Ron.  From the mission I mean.  He was helping out Hagrid with Norbert and the dragon bit him.  Ron's hand swelled to twice it's size and turned green so, turns out Norbert is poisonous as well.😒

There was another hitch as well.  Malfoy found out about the meeting place since Ron left the letter from Charlie in a book that Malfoy took from him.  And since it was too late to change the plan, we had to continue on.

So that means it was up to Harry and I.  At midnight we went up to the tallest tower in Hogwarts Castle with Norbert's crate and Harry's Christmas Cloak around us when we heard McGonagall shouting.  Apparently Malfoy had just got caught in the act of trying to catch us in the act.  Thank goodness for the Christmas cloak.  And he got detention.  Ha!

Ten minutes later, Charlie's friends had shown up and attached Norbert's crate to the harness they had made and then left, as fast as they'd come.  Harry and I were so proud of ourselves that we FORGOT the Christmas Cloak and ran straight into Filch, who took us straight to McGonagall.

If that wasn't bad enough, it turns out Neville was also walking around trying to find and warn us that Malfoy was trying to catch us with a dragon, and he'd gotten caught too.  All of us ended up with detentions, and to be honest, I felt I'd deserved it.  So I stood there still as a statue as Professor McGonagall took away fifty points each, making us lose the Gryffindor lead.

Poor Neville thought we had somehow tricked him, even when I tried to explain afterwards, but he wasn't having any of it.

So that's it.  My first black mark on my pristine record at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

And to make it even worse, we're serving detention along with Malfoy.

😒
