We did it. Well, Harry did it.... or maybe Neville--
It doesn't matter. What matters is that we now know who Nicolas Flamel is. Meaning we also know exactly what Fluffy the guard dog(s?) are guarding. And we know even the Most Likely reason WHY Snape wants what it is!
I know, I know, I'm being vague. But this... item is so powerful and amazing and... if it falls into the wrong hands, the whole world is basically toast. Even now the world isn't in the best state of things seeing as how all the staff, even Dumbledore trusts Snape. I think Harry, Ron, and I are the only ones who are pretty sure of what Snape is up to.
The real question is: HOW did we find out who he is?
Through a Chocolate Frog. I'd given Harry a whole box of them for Christmas, and poor Neville was feeling miserable (Again) because Malfoy (the turd) jinxed him with a specific spell that locks legs together and he had to hobble all the way back to the Common room by himself. I undid the curse on him and Harry offered him a chocolate frog as Ron offered his unnecessary advice (no tact, really), and when Neville gave Harry the card back (since Harry likes to collect them), the card was Dumbledore. And under the description, it said explicitly that Dumbledore had worked with Nicolas Flamel on Alchemy!
This, of course, reminded me that I'd checked out a book on just that subject from the library for some light reading (I really need to brush up on my notes after that Holiday) and we found him. His whole biography on that one page.
To think that after months of searching, what we were searching for was LITERALLY in a chocolate frog.
With this information on our minds, we actually decided to lay low for a while, especially since Harry had another Quidditch match coming up at that point, and Snape was also the referee. He was awful. He kept coming up with excuses to give the other team more points than Gryffindor, but he couldn't do too much, Dumbledore had actually come to watch.
Gryffindor won, of course, and Harry caught the snitch (without swallowing it this time), but Ron got into a bit of a tussle with Malfoy. I was a bit too absorbed in the game to really pay attention, but apparently Neville took Ron's advice and was attempting to stand up to Malfoy only to get shot back down. So Ron jumped him. Idiot. But Malfoy deserved what he got. So... Ron is a Great Idiot. 👍
Ron and I were waiting for Harry after the match, and we noticed that he was a little late coming to the party. As soon as I saw him, I knew something happened. Apparently Harry saw Snape (who was flaming maaaad) and Quirrell in the forest and Snape was trying to get Quirrell to help him get his hands on what Fluffy is guarding.
Apparently Fluffy is not the only form of security there, and Snape is trying to get Quirrell to help him, by force if necessary.
This means that the three of us have to come up with a plan. And soon. 😩

The Things That Happen When I'm Not There...
Today is the day before 2nd term starts and the Christmas Holidays are officially over. And while my holiday was relaxed and happy with my family, I couldn't forget the little voice in the back of my mind telling me that Harry and Ron were definitely up to something. Something that would probably get them into trouble.
😒
How right was that voice in the back of my head you ask? 100% as it turns out, because you can't even imagine what Harry got himself into right after Christmas.
Harry received a cloak for Christmas that apparently enhances one's... "hiding in plain sight" powers. He used it to roam around in the dead of night, in the library, in the restricted Section. When he told me, I couldn't even admonish him, I just sat back and stared until my eyes started watering. Even though it was for a good cause (finding out who Nicolas Flamel is), he still could've gotten caught, and then what would happen?
That's not even the worst part. And honestly, the most sad.
Apparently on his adventures at night, Harry came across a mirror called the Mirror of Erised. I've read about it before. It's said to be a mirror that shows one's greatest desire. And Harry found that mirror.
The book I read also said that people have literally died because they become so attached to what they see that they forget that they are still living in their own world. So when Harry started telling me this, naturally I was a bit worried.
What does a famous boy wizard, who is famous for the sole reason of being the sole survivor of a horrendous attack on his family, want the most?
His family.
Apparently Dumbledore himself, our Headmaster and the Greatest Wizard to Ever Live, found him on that third night in front of the mirror and explained to him what the mirror was exactly. Thank goodness for Dumbledore 😊.
And although I eventually did chastise Harry and Ron both for wandering around so late (what if they'd been caught??) I was a bit disappointed that they didn't find who Nicolas Flamel was. I still am, actually.
But I'm here now, and three heads are better than two. If we work together, we'll find the man. All in good time. Hopefully before Snape tries to get past Fluffy again.

Happy Christmas!!
I'm afraid that this post isn't going to be very long. Today is day before the Christmas Holidays, and I'm going to be going home to my family. I've mentioned before that my parents are both dentists, so although I miss them both very much and am excited to see them, I feel like picking up and leaving the magical world of Hogwarts for the Muggle world of my parents is going to feel lackluster.
Well, except for the fact that I get to see my family. Mum, Dad, I did miss you so!
Well, except for the fact that I get to see my family. Mum, Dad, I did miss you so!
Oh, and HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
Besides that exciting news, all there is to say as far as Harry, Ron, and I with our search for trying to find out who Nicolas Flamel is has been a bust so far. I've read all the books I can from the library to the point that Madam Prince was getting irritated by my coming and going.
It wasn't just me either. Harry and Ron have been accompanying me as well, searching for any mention of Flamel while I proofread through their homework.
😐
I hope the boys find something while I'm away, it'd be good if we can solve this mystery before it gets too big to solve.
